World Championship Spartan Beast – 10-12 mile Obstacle Race from Hell. If you have done any race anywhere in the world: whether a mud run, fun run, olympic run, bike race, death march or any kind of event claiming to be the “toughest race on the planet” you will be happy to know that this is where it ends..THIS IS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SPARTAN BEAST…Step up and get out of your comfort zone, many will arrive, but few will leave!

NOTE: If you are unsure as to if you can do The World Championship Beast we are allowing you a ‘dignified exit’ if you need it at mile 3. This will also serve as the ultimate test of resolve for those who plan on doing the full event. Each racer will have to confront choice between luxury and relaxation or facing 9 more miles of HELL. You are welcome to plan on only doing 3 mile section of course but price remains the same and you will not receive official time or medal.

The Spartan Race World Championships are around the corner. Our 2013 Points Season is coming to a close. Did Spartan Race change your life? Share your story and you could be featured on national TV. Start by creating your profile today. Filming will take place during the World Championships Race.

When: September 21st and September 22nd 2013

Distance: 13+ miles, fastest time should be around 180 minutes. Those who can climb well will be rewarded.

Start Times: Starting at 8am, waves of 200 athletes will be released every 15 minutes across 5 groups (Elite, Confirmed, Morning, Afternoon, Late Afternoon). YOUR exact start time in the group you registered for will be posted here a few days prior to event date. Want to know more details? Read our FAQ.

Aid Stations: In a Spartan Race first, this race is largely SELF-SUPPORTED. There will only be ONE WATER STATION on this 13 mile course with zero calories available to racers. It will not be sufficient for you to rely solely on this water station for your hydration needs. This additional challenge will take the difficulty of this event to the next level; you will need to plan and train accordingly.

All racers will be REQUIRED TO HAVE A WATER SOURCE ON THEM at the start line in order to start the race. Yes, you read that correctly, mandatory gear in the form of a water source (camelback, bottle, fuel belt, etc). It is up to you to determine how significant of a water source you will need. We highly recommend you also have some calories with you on the course. It will take Olympic caliber athletes 3 hours to complete this race. Most of you will take 5-8 hours. If you don’t plan your nutrition and hydration properly you will risk not finishing the event and you are putting your health at risk.

For more info on the Self-Supported concept, please read this.

Dark Zones: The sun sets at 6:45pm on race day. As the course is developed we will be establishing cut-offs at checkpoints throughout the course. Racers will have to reach various checkpoints, BEFORE the designated cut off time. If they do not reach the checkpoint on time, they will be removed for their own safety. We are exploring all of our options to keep racers on the course for as long as possible, including the allowed use of headlamps to complete certain portions of the course.

Swimming: There are 1-2 water crossings/obstacles on the course that racers must navigate. Athletes that can not swim will be given PFDs (Personal Floatation Device).

Littering: The terrain is beautiful and we are lucky to have the opportunity to race on it. No littering. If you do, you will be disqualified and pulled from the course.

All Racers Receive:

  • – Finishers Medal
    – T-Shirt
    – Free Beer ticket for anyone 21 and over
    – Access to a Rockin’ festival area
